North Atlantic: west coast of Africa off Cabo Barbas, Spanish Sahara and the Canary Islands; off New York, USA and southern outlet of Davis Strait, Canada. Indian Ocean: submarine seamounts in 1,400-1,730 m [1388] and off St Helens, Tasmania (Australia) in 1,480-1,700 m [1388]. Southwest Pacific: New Zealand [578]. Source: www.gbif.org

Biology
Oviparous [17086]. Inhabits continental slopes and the ocean floor (Ref. 26346, 75154). Occurs in >1700 m depth. Benthopelagic (Ref. 58744).
