Short Description
A longnose chimaera with a narrow, slightly flattened snout, and blunt-edged, ridged tooth plates; pectoral fins short and broad, anal fin large and curved, and caudal fin with no tubercles on upper edge but with a short terminal filament [536]. Dark brown in color [536].

Eastern Atlantic: Cape Blanc, Mauritania to Walvis Bay, Namibia (Ref. 4444). Western Indian Ocean: Arabian Sea (Ref. 45795).

2012: Bay of Bengal, India (north-eastern Indian Ocean) Nagapattinam landing centre (10.768N 79.848E) Tamil Nadu, south-east coast of India on 26.01.2010 [15390]; 2012: northern Arabian Sea [16502];
