Short Description
Diagnosis after FINUCCI, B. & WHITE, W.T. & KEMPER, J.M. & NAYLOR, G.J.P. 2018 [25999]: Chimaera ogilbyi is distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of characters: no anal fin; lateral line with tight sinuous undulations; moderately long, narrow snout; relatively thick, nondeciduous skin; uniformly silvery greyish dorsally and laterally, paler ventrally; first dorsal fin mostly uniformly dark; second dorsal fin even height for whole length; preopercular and oral lateral line canals usually not sharing a common branch; dorsal spine long, usually longer than first dorsal fin; claspers slender, trifurcate, divided for more than half their length, not bulbous distally.
