Short Description
Light brown dorsally, paler ventrally, with blue-white spots (Ref. 391).

Distribution
Western Indian Ocean: confined to Madagascar. Previously synonymized with Chiloscyllium plagiosum but after comparisons have been made, this species was tentatively recognized as valid. Not in Compagno"quot;s 1999 checklist [529].

Human uses
fisheries: commercial

Biology
Oviparous, paired eggs are laid. Embryos feed solely on yolk [733]. Distinct pairing with embrace [17086].
